TACP II
The TACP™ II / TacAIR™ Beacon is a high intensity infrared beacon designed for long distance signaling during Close Air Support (Night CAS) operations. Primarily used as a Drop Zone (DZ), Landing Zone (LZ) and marker, the beacons flat top design maximizes ground-to-air signal while minimizing the ground-to-ground signal. Powered by either six AA, or three CR123, batteries the TACP II provides flexibility and over 100+ hours of continuous operation. The TACP II / TacAIR beacon can be seen by aircraft at distances up to twenty nautical miles.
